Slow and Steady Wins the Internet Marketing Race

What is your approach to Internet Market? Are you like the jack rabbit off to the races, but find unforeseen obstacles that keep success just out of your reach? Maybe, you are like the turtle just plodding along, slow and steady toward the finish line?

What one is better? After listening to numerous teleconferences, reading lots of books on how to capture a big slice of the Internet pie, I am more convinced that I prefer being the turtle.

During the last 2 years, I have spent considerable time writing articles, in fact hundreds of articles. Of course, I need to have thousands of articles to build both lists and more importantly relationships with the readers.

This past year, I developed a new plan to write 1 article a day. By doing so, I began to observe significant traffic to my site. However, I saw that more and more people were using this strategy.

This observation had me revisit my strategic plan. I then made a commit to write three articles a day coupled with the creation of some combination e-book and e-workbook. Now after seeing this strategy continue to increase traffic and increase conversation, I realize it was time for another course correction to the strategic lan. Now just 2 months latter, the new article writing goal is 4 to 5 articles each day.

My experience of the last two years has allowed me to write an article in 20 minutes. So I will be investing 2 hours each day in marketing my business through Internet marketing. I believe that with further practice I would be able to reduce the article writing time by 10 to 20 minutes. However, I never forget that quality must always be present and so fresh ideas must always be forthcoming.

What I have observed from some of my colleagues is that many Internet article marketers are like jack rabbits and they start submitting articles. Then something else happens and they are no longer writing articles with the frequency that they once did. These individuals have failed to understand that marketing, no matter the venue or vehicle,must be constant and consistent. So it is better to be slow and steady than fast and erratic if your goal is to increase web traffic through Internet article marketing.

  • If you want to increase traffic to your website,
  • If you want to increase purchases of your products or services,
  • iI you want to have more clients,

Then commit to a slow and steady plan to write at least one article a day, but in reality 3 is the absolute minimum. Did you know that some article directory sites such as EzineArticles are receiving 1.5 to 2 articles every minute?

If you truly want to win the Internet marketing race using Internet article marketing as one of your key strategies, then you must be willing to write hundreds to thousands of articles in a constant and consistent manner. For well written quality articles will build a readership and more importantly a relationship with your readers. In today’s global market place, relationship building is the critical especially if you wish to increase sales.
