As security cameras continue to improve due to increased application of new technology, this new technology continues to become increasingly more affordable, permitting virtually any home or business owner to now make use of increase resolution and easy installation of IP security cameras. The newer MegaPixel IP technology currently only employed by higher end business installations is also becoming more affordable, even for home user implementation.
MegaPixel IP cams provide increased resolutions of recording, even providing higher than HDTV resolution recording even resolutions up to 2592×1944 resolution for 5.0 MegaPixel IP cameras. This allows a proper security camera system to record more ground with less cameras and still provide higher detail for identification of persons or vehicles that are captured on film. These new style cams are able to stream high definition video directly over a standard CAT-5 network cable, delivering power to the camera from a standard PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch and video back from the camera to the network over the single cable. With higher definition video quality, it becomes easier to identify persons, capture license plates and ensure conviction of criminals who would attempt to steal or otherwise violate your home or business.
While MegaPixel IP cams have been available for several years now, the technology is finally becoming less expensive, permitting end users to provide high definition camera solutions even with lower budget home or business camera installations. Now with newer series megapixel IP cameras, such as the Arecont Vision AVxx10DN series cameras, end users can now manage to install megapixel IP cameras for as low as $450 per camera, when previously this same level of camera would have been as much as $900 per camera.
This new line of Arecont Vision megapixel IP cameras use the popular MJPEG video compression format, and are housed inside a tiny enclosure. These IP cams include the AV1310DN 1.3 MegaPixel; AV2110DN 2.0 MegaPixel; AV3110DN 3.0 MegaPixel and AV5110DN 5.0 MegaPixel. These IP cams are all Day/Night series cameras with a mechanical IR cut filter, and provide beautiful high definition color video during the daytime and black and white video at night when light levels drop.
